BURLINGTON, VT - Through its "Kohl's Cares for Kids" campaign, the Kohl's department store in South Burlington is donating more than $17,000 to Vermont Children's Hospital. On Monday, April 17, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., South Burlington Kohl's Manager Gerry Wheeler will present the check to Vermont Children's Hospital Chief of Pediatrics Lewis First, M.D., in the new Children's Specialty Center at Fletcher Allen Health Care.
The staff of the Children's Specialty Center will then distribute free bike helmets to every pediatric patient seen at the Children's Specialty Center throughout the day. In the coming weeks, Kohl's will visit local schools in the area to distribute a total of over 1,500 new bike helmets through Fletcher Allen's Community Health Improvement office.
