Fletcher Allen, State of Vermont to Hold Free Informational Session on New Medicare Plan

BURLINGTON, VT – On Monday, October 31, Fletcher Allen Health Care will hold a free informational session on the new Medicare prescription drug coverage that will begin January 1, 2006.  The event will be held at the Doubletree Hotel (Formerly Clarion) on Williston Road in South Burlington, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie, chair of the Governor's Commission on Healthy Aging, will team with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) to explain the coverage and its options. The Lieutenant Governor will join a host of presenters to educate area seniors about the new Medicare prescription drug benefit soon to become available to all senior citizens enrolled in Medicare A and/or B.

The free, morning-long session is aimed at helping each individual choose the appropriate plan that best fits his or her prescription needs.

For more information, please contact Jason Williams at (802) 847-2912.  If you have specific questions regarding Medicare Part D, please contact the Champlain Valley Council on Aging or the Senior Help Line toll-free number at 1-800-642-5119.
