Teaching is one of the core responsibilities and passions of the Infectious Diseases Unit. All our faculty members are actively involved in the teaching of medical students of the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. All faculty participate in classroom and lecture hall teaching to the medical students and medical resident of Fletcher Allen Health Care covering a wide array of infectious diseases. We also teach the medical students and residents during daily patient care rounds in the hospital and outpatient clinic. The Unit has a robust fellowship training program for those wishing to pursue advanced academic training in infectious diseases emphasizing both inpatient and outpatient clinical care and both basic science and clinical research. The unit is actively involved in educational programs concerning the teaching of attending physicians throughout Vermont and upstate New York.
