Our Services

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Service provides care for children with musculoskeletal problems.  The service specializes in the treatment of scoliosis, bone tumors, and upper and lower extremity problems. The service also focuses on providing care for children with cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, muscular dystrophy, and other neuromuscular disorders through the Vermont Department of Health.

Our Staff

Dr. Aronsson is the Past-President of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (PRSNA). He received the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the residents in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont in 1993, 1996, and 2004. His current research interests include: the etiology and long-term results of treatment for scoliosis, the early detection of developmental dysplasia of the hip and slipped capital femoral epiphysis.

Appointments

  • An appointment with the Pediatric Surgeon for an evaluation, consultation, or second opinion can be arranged with a referral from a family physician, another specialist such as a physiatrist, or in follow-up from an emergency room visit. Other sources of referrals include:
              1. Occupational Health
              2. Emergency room physicians
              3. Pediatric surgeons
              4. Primary care physicians

             

            • Please bring any records or diagnostic studies such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, EMG/NCS. This will assist the physician in developing a comprehensive plan of care for you.
            • Please note that financial coverage for evaluation and treatment are subject to the conditions of your particular insurance policy.

            FROM THE RUTLAND AREA:  Follow route 7 north to I-89.  Turn right unto I-89. 

            Take I-89 to Dorset St Exit (towards airport) Merge onto Kennedy Drive

            Turn right on Hinesburg Rd/VT 116 go approximately .7 miles

            Take 3rd left on to Tilley Drive (last building on right)

             

            FROM ST. ALBANS AND POINTS NORTH. 

            Take interstate 89 South to Exit 14E for US-2E

            Towards South Burlington Merge onto Williston Rd

            Turn right at Hinesburg Rd/VT-116 go approximately 1.3 miles

            Take 3rd left on to Tilley Drive (last building on right)

             

            FROM MONTPELIER/WHITE RIVER JUNCTION AREA: 

            Take interstate 89 North to Exit 14E

            Towards South Burlington Merge onto Williston Rd

            Turn right at Hinesburg Rd/VT-116 go approximately 1.3 miles

            Take 3rd left on to Tilley Drive (last building on right)

            FROM PLATTSBURGH/MASSENA/MALONE AREAS: 

            Take Cumberland Head/Grand Isle Ferry.

            Follow Route 314 to Route 2 East to Interstate 89 south. 

            Take 89 South to Exit  14E for US-2E Towards South Burlington Merge onto Williston Rd

            Turn right at Hinesburg Rd/VT-116 go approximately 1.3 miles

            Take 3rd left on to Tilley Drive (last building on right)
