General Description

The residency curriculum is designed so that every resident may fully develop his or her potential as an excellent general pediatrician or pediatric sub-specialist. Representing a diverse population, each patient presents the resident with an opportunity for critical thinking and learning. These opportunities are complemented by a faculty which is strongly committed to teaching and enhancing the clinical experience of the residents. Close contact with excellent generalist and specialist pediatricians throughout all the rotations promotes an appreciation for the importance of coordination of care, and for the unique roles of each in the care of the patient. Graduates of our program are well prepared for either a competitive academic fellowship or the practice of general pediatrics. They are equipped with the self-learning skills which allow them to critically evaluate and contribute to the continually expanding knowledge base of pediatrics.
