House Staff Benefits Program
Vacation - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. All Fletcher Allen Health Care Residents receive three weeks of vacation annually.
Disability Insurance (Long Term Disability Plan) - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible on July 1. You receive partial income protection after three months of illness or disability, until your recovery or age 65.
Medical Insurance (Choice of Health Insurance Plans available) - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care and you (your contribution based on plan selected). Eligible on the first of the month after employment. You have the choice of two health insurance plans designed to best meet your needs and those of your dependents.
Dental Insurance - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care and you. Eligible on the first of the month after employment. You receive usual and customary dental insurance for you and your dependents.
Professional Liability Insurance - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. You receive malpractice insurance which provides full coverage for you in all Fletcher Allen Health Care job duties.
Basic Life Insurance - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care and you. Eligible on the first of the month after employment. Fletcher Allen pays for benefits equal to two times your annual salary paid to your beneficiary. Additional optional coverage for you and your dependents may be purchased at a low cost. (A statement of health may be required depending on level of coverage elected.)
Additional House Staff Benefits
Employee Credit Union - Paid for by you. Eligible upon employment. You receive optional membership for savings, loans, checking.
Employee Health Services - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. You receive pre-employment screening and immunizations.
Housing - Paid for by you. Eligible upon employment. You receive assistance in finding suitable accommodations.
Parking Facilities - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. Free parking.
403(b) Retirement Plan - Paid for by you and Fletcher Allen Health Care. You pay for the opportunity to save money for retirement on tax-deferred basis, and are eligible upon employment. Fletcher Allen Health Care pays from 3-10% contribution depending on age plus years of service. You are eligible after completion of four years of residency.
White Coats - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. White coats are provided and laundered free of charge.
Workers' Compensation - Paid for by Fletcher Allen Health Care. Eligible upon employment. Income protection during absence due to on-the-job injury.
