Cardiology

For more than 50 years, the heart care team at Fletcher Allen Health Care has been providing people with a second chance to do what’s important to them. In alliance with the University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen is Vermont’s academic medical center and one of only 125 such centers in the country. Our academic affiliation allows us to provide the best patient care possible by bringing research and education to the bedside.

The cardiologists have extensive experience in all of the major subspecialties within cardiology. They see more than 12,000 patients each year. They conduct a variety of diagnostic procedures with advanced technology, which includes echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests and cardiac catheterizations in addition to newer modalities such as Cardiac MRI and CT angiography. The cardiologists perform approximately 1,500 coronary interventions and implants per year, including the latest electrophysiology techniques to regulate abnormal heart rhythms. They also implant more than 1,000 pacemakers and defibrillators every year. Our research and clinical facilities are state-of-the-art.
