• The Vermont Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is holding their Walk MS 2008 event today.  Registration starts at 8 a.m., at Burlington High School.  The walk will begin at 9 a.m. along Lake Champlain and Church Street. • The Stowe Weekend of Hope is an annual forum for education, enlightenment and recreation for cancer patients and survivors, and their families.  This year, the event will present nationally renowned oncology specialists from around New England, as well as leading oncologists and researchers from the Fletcher Allen Health Care Division of Hematology and Oncology, the Vermont Cancer Center, and the University of Vermont, who will present free lectures and seminars on the latest findings on cancer prevention and treatment.  For more information, visit http://www.stowehope.org.

• Come out and join the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) walk today. Presentation on Relationships and Adults with ADHD - May 6

American Red Cross Blood Drive - May 7

There will be a blood drive on Wednesday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the McClure Lobby Conference Center.  Please bring your blood donor card, photo ID or two forms of ID.   Soup will be provided and the Red Sox promotion continues.

Volunteers Wanted: The Department of Public Works is looking for volunteers to help with a sidewalk inventory which will document problems on the city sidewalks.  Volunteer training will be provided on Monday, May 12, or Tuesday, May 13.  Anyone interested should contact Nicole Losch at 865-5833, or nlosch@ci.burlington.vt.us.

Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race - The Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race is a 5K team running/walking event open to businesses, government and non-profit organizations in Vermont.  Come join the 25th annual race on Thursday, May 15, on the Statehouse lawn in Montpelier.  For further information, call (802)846-7926, or visit www.state.vt.us/gcpfs/.  The deadline for registration is April 23.

2008 Start! Burlington Heart Walk - Come join the American Heart Association on Saturday, May 31 for the Start!
