The Department of Radiation Oncology at Fletcher Allen Health Care has a long-standing history of providing outstanding clinical care as part of the Vermont Cancer Center; a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. We work closely with physicians both within the medical center and the surrounding communities to provide a comprehensive approach to the evaluation and care of individuals with cancer.
Advances in technology have vastly improved our abilities to deliver high doses of radiation therapy to tumors while minimizing side effects. The Radiation Oncology team at Fletcher Allen Health Care use these technologies, including 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), as indicated to provide those patients in our care the best possible treatment.
Our department is equipped with two Linear Accelerators, and a large bore CT Simulator. We also offer High-Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, Prostate Seed Implant (PSI), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Low-dose Rate Brachytherapy (LDR) and Total Body Irradiation (TBI).
Direct requests for consultations can be made through the main Department number, (802) 847-3506.
