Physical Therapy Services

PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES

photo of staffThe physical therapists at the Work Enhancement and Rehabilitation Center are skilled in treating a wide variety of diagnoses, including, but certainly not limited to:

  • Tendonitis and Bursitis
  • Whiplash
  • Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis
  • Chronic pain
  • Post-surgery, fracture, or immobilization
  • Sciatica
  • Sprains and strains (including repetitive strain)
  • Plantar fascitis
  • Patellofemoral pain
  • Mechanical low back and neck pain

 

Evaluation: Physical therapists at WERC can perform many types of evaluations including:

  • Biomechanical evaluations for custom molded foot orthoses
  • Interdisciplinary evaluations
  • McKenzie mechanical evaluations
  • Cardiovascular endurance testing
  • Need for assistive or adaptive devices
  • Neurologic screenings
  • Environmental (home, work, and school) barriers
  • Gait analysis
  • Assessment of balance
  • Strength and motor function
  • Muscle performance
  • Assessment of pain
  • Posture analysis
  • Range of motion
  • Flexibility

 

Treatment: We offer many avenues of physical therapy treatment, such as:

  • Functional training to facilitate return to work, home activities, school, childcare, self-care or other activities of daily living
  • Prescription/application of assistive, adaptive, orthotic, protective, or supportive devices
  • Modalities (moist heat, ultrasound, TENS and other forms of therapeutic electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, ice)
  • Biofeedback
  • Mechanical Cervical Traction
  • Manual Therapy Techniques, including mobilization and manipulation
  • Soft Tissue mobilizations
  • Strength training
  • Endurance training
  • Flexibility/Range of Motion exercises
  • Prenatal and Postpartum exercise programs
  • McConnell and Mulligan taping

Physical Therapy is part of the interdisciplinary team that provides our Work Hardening and Functional Restoration Programs.
