Currently, we provide the following variations of kidney transplantation: Cadaver donation, Living Related, Living Unrelated, Good Samaritan, High Risk/Highly Sensitized Protocols, Living Related/ Unrelated - Cadaver Exchange, and Pediatric Kidney Transplantation. We also offer Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy to living donors. Additionally, pancreas transplantation in any of the following combinations: Simultaneous Kidney-Pancreas, Pancreas after kidney and Pancreas alone are performed. These pancreas transplants are done for patients with Type 1 diabetes mellitus and some type 2 who have secondary complications. A successful pancreas transplant means that the recipient's glucose remains normal without insulin injections.
