Visitation Policy Welcome to the McClure 3 Surgical/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We have a relaxed visitation policy. All visitors please check in at the desk with the volunteer before entering, or use the phone to call in and speak with the secretary.
You are welcome to visit between 8:30 Am and 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM-11:00 PM. During these hours, please limit visitation to two visitors at a time.
We ask that you not visit between 7:00-8:30 AM and 7:00-8:30 PM to allow for change of shift report, unless pre-arranged with the nurse.
We ask that you limit your visitation between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM so that your loved one can rest, heal, and regain their strength.
Children under the age of 12 are not permitted without prior approval of the nurse caring for your loved one.
The staff of the ICU strives to provide the best care possible for your loved one. Therefore, we request that there is one designated spokesperson that will be responsible for relaying information to the rest of the family.
We ask that the use of cell phones be limited to the waiting room and not be used in the unit or patient's rooms. There is a public pay phone available in the hallway near the McClure elevators.
If your loved one is returning to the unit from surgery or tests, please allow an hour to settle them back into the room. There may be times when the patient's room or parts of the unit will be closed for procedures or emergencies. In addition, there may be times when the nurse will ask you to leave the ICU for patient care issues. You will be asked to wait in the waiting room during this time.
Thank you for your help and understanding with this policy.

There are additional waiting areas provided for you in the Ambulatory Care Center West Pavilion, Level 3 Surgical area, and in the East Pavilion Atrium. The ICU waiting room is closed twice daily for housekeeping.
For security reasons, lights must remain on at all times in the ICU waiting room. We ask that you not sleep in the ICU waiting room.
