Ambulatory Care: each fellow has a continuity clinic at the Pulmonary Ambulatory Clinic one half day per week. Ambulatory care electives are also available.
Pulmonary Medicine Consultation Service: each fellow serves six months on the consult service diagnosing and managing hospitalized patients with simple and complex pulmonary diseases.
Critical Care Medicine: each fellow serves nine months on the medical intensive care unit, and two months in the surgical intensive care. The MICU is a closed unit with a pulmonary critical care faculty member as the attending.
Sleep Medicine: one of our faculty is board-certified in sleep medicine, and supervises the fellows' experience during their rotation at the sleep disorders clinic and the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory. Additional elective time is available.
Related Clinical Experiences: all fellows do a rotation in anesthesia, and in the pulmonary function laboratory. Electives are available in thoracic radiology, infectious disease, allergy and immunology, and cystic fibrosis.
Research: all fellows devote substantial portions of their three year program to research projects mentored by faculty members. In addition, they are expected to attend and to present at the weekly Vermont Lung Center seminar.
