Robotic-Assisted Surgery: Minimally Invasive. Exceptionally Effective.

Fletcher Allen is excited to announce a dynamic new addition to our surgical capabilities — robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System.

This breakthrough device makes it possible for Fletcher Allen surgeons to perform minute, complex procedures that can reduce complications and length of stay in the hospital. And having this available right here in Vermont eliminates the need for patients to travel considerable distances for this type of care.

This is just the latest example of the many ways in which Fletcher Allen is able to improve our region’s quality of life. As an academic medical center, we are uniquely positioned to bring world-class research, education and care to the region, giving you access to the latest, proven approaches to care.

Benefits for Patients

For most patients, robotic-assisted surgery offers numerous potential benefits over traditional, open surgery, including:

  • Significantly less pain

  • Shorter hospital stay

  • Faster recovery

  • Less blood loss and fewer transfusions

  • Less scarring

  • Quicker return to normal daily activities

  • And in many cases, better clinical outcomes

Available Procedures

Fletcher Allen is currently performing robotic-assisted gynecologic, urologic and pediatric operations. more>>
